You need to be tracking every single calorie and that includes that add tablespoon of butter right down to that tablespoon of sugar.
Once the three days are up you then add up all the numbers you get from each day then divide them by three. You will then have an average daily calorie amount that you are consuming each day. The next step is to work out the amount of calories that you need to consume to maintain your weight. You can quickly calculate this online just do a search for daily calorie calculator and you will find an endless amount of free calculators available to you.
Once you have this number, quickly compare this against your average over the three days and this will answer your question why you can gained weight. To lose this excess weight, you will need to subtract 500 from the amount the calculator gave you and start an exercise program. Continue to track your calories each day and you should start losing weight at the correct rate of around 2 to 3 pounds every week.
